The COPD Foundation has accomplished great things in its four short years of establishment. In 2004, the Foundation began with two programs: the COPD Digest (a publication offered free to all subscribers) and an Education Day series which are one-day events in major cities across the country offering lectures and distributing information for patients in the local community. Following the initiation of the first two programs, the COPD Foundation quickly expanded its breadth of education and research programs, as well as representation of the interests of individuals with COPD in legislative issues.
