COPD research is needed to find new therapies and possibly even a cure
for COPD. In order to advance COPD research, it is very important that
the COPD community show their interest and willingness to participate in
research by completing this survey!
The COPD
Foundation Research Registry is a confidential database of individuals
diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The COPD
Foundation is working with National Jewish Medical & Research Center in
Denver, Colorado
to ensure strictest confidentiality of patient
information.
Joining the
Registry is easy: to enroll, you simply complete the Registry survey.
Once you are enrolled in the Registry, the COPD Foundation Registry
will send you invitations to participate in COPD research which includes
clinical trials for new therapies. For our first study, a very exciting
project to find what makes some people more likely to develop COPD, the
Registry will also need individuals that have smoked but did not develop
COPD. This way they can compare the two groups to find differences.
Under no
circumstances will researchers have access to your identifying or
contact information, (name, address, phone number, etc.), unless you
provide it to them directly by deciding to join their research project.
To complete
the survey and join the Registry, you have several choices:
- Have a paper copy sent to
you for you to fill out and mail back:
