The COPD Foundation is proud to be a co-sponsor of The
Breathing Room.
The Breathing Room was designed to use sights and sounds to explain the
symptoms of COPD. The Breathing Room is a multi-media display that travels
across the U.S. and features in-depth info on how to manage the disease.
The lung model starts with healthy lungs and you will feel a cool breeze and
hear the sounds of normal breathing. As the lung model moves on to diseased
lungs, the breeze will stop. You will also hear the sounds of chronic
coughing combined with the labored sounds of a breathless person with COPD.
The Breathing Room is staffed by doctors, respiratory therapists, and other
healthcare experts. The displays will allow the public and patients to learn
more about lung health and COPD.
