Informative Materials
The COPD Foundation is the resource center for informative
literature on COPD. The Foundation has a collection of self-published
brochures on Living with COPD, What is COPD?; What is COPD for Kids?;
Getting Tested for COPD, Smoking Cessation, and End-of-Life Issues, as well
as community resources. This year, the Foundation will also be providing
these resources in Spanish. Information line callers can also request
information on the Foundation, basic information on COPD, the genetic cause
of COPD (Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency), as well as the Frontline Advice
for COPD Patients.

Face to Face with COPD
Faces of COPD is a resource that supplies you with the
stories of COPD patients. This resource contains stories of COPD patients
from around the world and from every walk of life. The stories serve to help
COPD patients cope with their disease through the knowledge that they are
not alone.
A small number of these stories were presented at World COPD Day 2006. A
couple of them are also posted on the World Health Organization's (WHO)
website with the title “Face to Face with COPD.”
One of the stories is going to be posted on the WHO's “Face to Face with
Chronic Disease” page. This page presents heartfelt stories about the
burdens of bad diagnoses and the barriers to care felt by chronic disease
patients.
The COPD Foundation and the International COPD Coalition (ICC) plan to carry
on the project and obtain more stories of COPD patients from around the
world. The result will be the ever growing pool of stories posted on both
websites.
We hope that this resource serves you well. If you have any comments or wish
to add your story to the list, contact the COPD Foundation.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary rehab helps reduce shortness of breath and
improves your outlook on life. It helps you learn about your disease so that
you can better deal with it. It also raises your strength and helps you
better perform daily tasks.
We have an ever growing list of Pulmonary Rehab Centers. You can type in
your zip code to see if there is a center near you.
Clinical Trials
The COPD Foundation supplies information on COPD Clinical
Trials. You can read about clinical research by clicking below or you can
search our database for clinical trials near you. We also supply a glossary
of terms to help you understand all of the content.
